Target Field debuts self-serve beer station

July 7, 2014
Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins say Target Field is the first major league ball park to serve beer from a vending machine.

The first self-serve beer station debuted Sunday during the game against the New York Yankees. A second station is expected to be added in time for the All-Star Game next week.

In order to get your brew from the vending machine, you buy a card from a concession cashier and prove your age. That card is used at the vending machine where you can tap up to 48 ounces every 15 minutes. The machine offers four beers, including Bud, Bud Light, Shock Top Lemon Shandy and Goose Island 312 Urban Pale Ale.

The Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1oejhH2 ) says that just like the concession stands, the machines will stop dispensing beer by the seventh inning.
