The first round of the Southwest Minnesota Traveling Horseshoe League playoffs are complete, with the tournament's top seeds all still in good position.
No. 1 seed RALCO Nutrition received a first-round bye.
Tracy Food Pride, the No. 2 seed, defeated fifth-seeded State Farm Insurance of Canby 12-5. Steve Hey was 4-0 for Tracy Food Pride with 38 ringers. Ken Giles, Lanny Iverson and Howie Greenman were each 2-0 for the victors. Greenman had 48 ringers and had his high game of the year with 26 ringers.
In other first-round action, third-seeded First Independent Bank of Balaton defeated No. 4 seed Burger King of Marshall 10-7. Jessica Hively was 3-1 for First Independent Bank, tallying 15 ringers. Burger King's Ralph Orren had a solid day in the losing effort, going 4-0 with 43 ringers.
In second-round action, RALCO will host First Independent Bank of Balaton in Balaton. Burger King will host No. 5 seed State Farm Insurance of Canby in Marshall.
