HUGO - Services for Thomas Edward Suedbeck, 61, of Hugo, are at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi. Visitation is from 12:30-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Following the funeral service, there will be a gathering of family and friends at Oneka Ridge Golf Course, 5610 120th St., White Bear Lake, MN 55110.

He died Saturday, June 22, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters.

Tom was born Dec. 2, 1951, in Slayton to John and Margaret Suedbeck. He grew up in Marshall, graduating from Marshall High School in 1969.

Tom always dreamed of owning his own business and in 1993 he incorporated Systems Furniture and successfully operated and grew his business over the next 20 years.

He met the love of his life, Lois Bohnsack, and they married in 1994 and adopted Lois' three beautiful daughters, Jennifer, Amy and Christa.

Tom was a sports fanatic and enjoyed keeping up with all of the teams. He coached his daughter's basketball team for several years. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol for 20 years. He loved to hunt and fish and be behind the wheel of the pontoon at his cabin. He was an avid golfer and ran the men's league at Oneka Ridge Golf Course. Tom loved to travel with his wife, family and friends. He was especially excited to be behind the wheel of his RV going to all the football stadiums. Tom was a member of St. Andrew's Church.

Tom is survived and sadly missed by his wife Lois; his three children: Jennifer (and Nathan) McClanahan, Amy (and Andrew) Keding, Christa Suedbeck; and his three beautiful grandchildren; Lucy and Benjamin Keding and London McClanahan; his parents, John and Margaret Suedbeck; sister, Mary (and Reuben) Erickson; and three brothers: Chris (and Jennifer), Jack (and Rose) and Jim (and Rhonda); his father-in-law, Pat Detwiller and his many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Edward and Margaret Suedbeck, Anthony and Catherine Kunkel and his mother-in-law, Mary Detwiller.
