MARSHALL - Services for Sally Wiley, 75, of Marshall were Tuesday at Rehkamp & Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall.
With her family by her side, Sally died at her home following a battle with COPD Friday, June 14, 2013.
Sarah "Sally" Josephine (Sutton) Wiley was born in Leicester, England, to Leslie and Edith (Thomas) Sutton. At the age of 15, Sally left home to work in a hotel while she finished her education. She loved to dance; it was at a dance club in England where she would meet Curtiss Wiley, an American soldier. The couple married in London, England and traveled all around the world. Eventually, the couple settled in Denver, Colo. where Sally worked as a civil servant with the United States Department of Defense for over 20 years. Sally loved her family. After her husband's death in 1993, she moved to Marshall to be close to her daughter. Sally was a generous and intelligent spirit that taught her children to, "Never judge others, until you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes."
She will be greatly missed by her children, Nicholas Simon Royer of England, Nigel Soames Royer of England, Nathan Saul Wiley of Denver, Colo., and Zoe Wiley of Marshall; her granddaughters, Jasmine Sarah Lavoie and Jordan Sydney Lavoie; and other friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Curtiss.
