Lilleberg admitted to honors program

Joseph Lilleberg, a freshman mathematics and computer science major, has recently been admitted to the honors program at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Lilleberg is the son of James and Jeanette Lilleberg of Marshall.

Students in the program design their own general studies curriculum, enroll in a senior seminar, participate in a senior dialogue in their senior year and have the option of preparing an honors project.

In addition, honor students are allowed to register first for classes, can receive extra credit in regular classes for doing work outside the required load and receive special recognition at graduation. During their four years at Southwest Minnesota State University, they must maintain a grade point average of 3.3 out of a possible 4.0.
