To the editor:
With the hope of warmer spring weather, it was good to see the "Share the Road Safely" article in this morning's paper. The suggestions were good, but I think it would be good to stress the importance of walkers and bike riders proceeding with the traffic in the right lane. I notice children and adults riding their bikes against the flow of traffic every day.
Just last week driving on Village Drive I met three college age girls coming toward me in my lane walking three abreast. Because of the recent snowstorm, the sidewalks were not all shoveled and many cars were parked too far out into the street so this made a dangerous situation which could have been avoided had they been walking in single file.
Following that principle will make our city safer for drivers and pedestrians alike.
