MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Associated Press has hired Kyle Potter to cover state government and politics in its bureau in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The 24-year-old Potter is returning to the AP, where he was part of the cooperative's team covering the Minnesota Legislature for four months in 2013. He spent the past year at The Forum of Fargo, North Dakota, where he specialized in public records, database and investigative reporting.
The appointment was announced Wednesday by Central Region Editor David Scott and Upper Midwest News Editor Doug Glass.
Potter previously served internships with the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The Duluth native is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he worked as a reporter, associate editor and managing editor of the Minnesota Daily.
