April 3, 2013
Marshall Independent

Marshall junior Kenzie Beekman was named a PrepVolleyball.com All-American for the 2012 season, the website announced last month.

It is the second time Beekman has earned All-American status. She was also the finalist for sophomore of the year for the 2011 season.

PrepVolleyball.com recognized 150 players from 40 states as All-Americans for 2012. Beekman was one of seven players from Minnesota to earn the honor along with Blaine's Lydia Dimke, Lakeville North's Alyssa Goehner and Erica Handley, Eagan's Taylr McNeil, Hopkins' Samantha Seliger-Swenson and Eden Prairie's Sarah Wilhite.

A 5-foot-11 outside hitter, Beekman led the Marshall area with 512 kills (5.5 per set) and also had 290 digs and 43 ace blocks while helping the Tigers claim the Class AA state tournament championship for the second straight year.
