Marcella Ann Nuese was born July 21, 1912, to Nicklas and Margaret (Schweback) Bertamus in Granville, Iowa. Marcella was united in marriage to Edward Nuese on May 15, 1934, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. In 1947, they adopted their only child, son Mark. Together the couple enjoyed couple's supper club and getting together with various family members for volleyball and cards. Marcie was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, a faithful volunteer for numerous years at the WMMC Thrift shop and a dedicated member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She also worked part time at the House of Charm in Marshall. She enjoyed many hours of playing cards and being with friends in the four to five bridge clubs she belonged to; plus playing in two domino groups. She was known by her fellow card players as a tenacious and "determined to win" bridge player. Marcella was a superb baker, famous for her divinity, caramels and desserts. She had a passion for cooking and also did a wide variety of crafts over the years with her friends. Craft evenings were often accompanied by liquid refreshments and laughter. Marcie lived a full and beautiful 100 years. Many things changed throughout her lifetime; but her love for others and dedication to her faith was consistent.

She will be missed by her son, Mark (and Connie) Nuese of Aberdeen, S.D.; grandchildren, Jeremy Nuese of Shoreview and Christine (and Kelly) Kenser of Aberdeen, S.D.; great-grandchildren, Brendon, Madison and Devon Nuese of Shoreview, Kyle, Sam, Jake and Katie Kenser of Aberdeen, S.D.; as well as many nieces, and great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents and 10 siblings.

Blessed be the memory of Marcella Ann Nuese.

Note: The family has many extra family photos that belong to other families on both sides. Please review them at the Friday evening prayer service, or at the luncheon after the funeral and take what belongs to your immediate family. They are yours to enjoy and keep.
