RRC 67, MCC 63

Jeff DeCock poured in a game-high 31 points, including 13 from the free throw line, to lead the Red Rock Central boys' basketball team to a 67-63 comeback win over Murray County Central Monday in Slayton.

The Falcons trailed 31-27 at the half and came back in the final minutes to grab the win in what was the season finale for both teams.

Henry Rogotzke had a big night for the Falcons as well, scoring 15 points, grabbing 16 rebounds and getting three steals. Austin Price knocked down four 3-pointers for 12 points for RRC.

RRC struggled from the foul line, going 17-for-39 in the game. MCC was just 5-for-19.

MCC also had three players score in double figures in Grant Everson (14), Sam Erickson (13) and Cole Bly (11).

Red Rock Central has won four straight games and enters the Section 3A-South tournament with a 15-9 record. The Falcons, who are seeded third, play the winner between No. 6 seed Edgerton and No. 11 seed Adrian at 4 p.m. Saturday in Worthington.

MCC ends its year with a 3-19 mark and will face No. 7 seed Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. in a 3A-South first-round game in Westbrook.

Lincoln HI 60, E.C.H.O. Charter 42

Jumping out to a 25-9 lead at halftime, the Lincoln HI boys' basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak to end the regular season with a 60-42 win over E.C.H.O. Charter School Monday in a non-conference game in Echo.

The Rebels hit nine 3-pointers in the game, with Trysten Studemann connecting on four of them for 12 points. Nate Pavek led Lincoln HI in scoring with 16 points, and Andrew Behnke added 10.

Abe Faugstad scored 13 points for the Rockets in defeat, while Tanner Lentz and Nick Pingel each chipped in nine.

The Rebels improve to 7-15 with the win and will open the Section 3A-North tournament at home Thursday when they take on Renville County West.

E.C.H.O. Charter (0-10 overall) will try to extend its season Thursday when the Rockets face Lakeview in a Section 3A-North tournament game in Cottonwood.

Redwood Valley 60, TMB 33

The Redwood Valley boys' basketball team bolted out to an early lead and never looked back on its way to a 60-33 win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Monday in Redwood Falls in what was the season finale for both teams.

It was the fourth straight win for the Cardinals, who led 33-14 at the half and move to 20-5 with the victory. Guard Alec Koster led the charge for Redwood Valley, hitting three of his team's nine 3-pointers and scoring a game-high 14 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Alec Swan was the lone TMB player to reach double figures. He scored 10 points, while Josh Kirk had eight points and six rebounds.

The Panthers finish the season with a 7-17 overall record. They will open the Section 3AA-North tournament at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Montevideo.

The Cardinals are the top seed in the 3AA-North tournament and begin play Saturday against No. 8 seed Yellow Medicine East in Redwood Falls.
