MARSHALL - Lester Corey Bates, 35, of Ghent, pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Jan. 22 to charges of first degree criminal property damage. A complaint alleges Bates caused more than $600 worth of damage to a television and computer in a Marshall residence on Sept. 8. A trial date was set for March 27, with a date certain of June 21. A pretrial hearing was set for March 19.

MARSHALL - Gaheyr Mohamud Muse, 35, of Marshall, pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Jan. 22 to two counts of second degree assault charges and charges of terroristic threats and fifth degree assault. A complaint alleges Muse assaulted two people with a box cutter in Marshall on July 21. A trial date was set for Feb. 27-28. A pretrial hearing was set for Feb. 19.

MARSHALL - Nicole Lee Chaparro, 22, of Granite Falls, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 22 on two counts of third degree driving while impaired. A complaint alleges Chaparro drove while under the influence of a controlled substance in Marshall on Aug. 29. A hearing was set for Feb. 5.

MARSHALL - Raul Salinas, Jr., 29, of Montevideo, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 22 on two counts of theft charges. A complaint alleges Salinas stole merchandise from a Marshall business on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. A hearing was set for Feb. 5.

MARSHALL - Ruach Wiyual Reat, 18, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 22 on charges of possession of stolen property - liability for crimes of another. A complaint alleges Reat or an accomplice possessed and tried to pawn a stolen ring in Marshall on Oct. 11. A hearing was set for Feb. 5.

MARSHALL - Ruach Wiyual Reat, 18, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 22 on two counts of financial transaction card fraud - liability for crimes of another. A complaint alleges Reat or an accomplice used a stolen debit card to make purchases in Marshall on Sept. 17. A hearing was set for Feb. 5.
