Kari Buysse's third-grade classroom was overrun by cowboys, cowgirls, coyotes and a camp cook Tuesday morning as Holy Redeemer School third-graders performed a tall tale called "Pecos Bill" for their schoolmates. Young Bill was said to have joined a coyote pack after falling out of a wagon as his family crossed the Pecos River. Pecos Bill, portrayed by Jaden Dobrenski, left, was discovered many years later by his brother, Cowboy Carl (Logan Deutz). After tearing down a tree to make a guitar, making a lasso from a snake and bustin' broncos in a corral, Pecos Bill asked Slue-Foot Sue (Madelyn Allex) to marry him. So the judge (Jackson Thooft) did.
