Bursch Travel acquires South Dakota location

Bursch Travel Agency, Inc. has acquired Modrick Cruises and Travel of Rapid City, S.D. Modrick is the largest travel agency in western South Dakota and has been a Rapid City business for more than 20 years.

"Modrick Cruise and Travel presented an excellent expansion opportunity for our business with many synergies," Fred Bursch, president of Bursch Travel, said. "They are known for their cruise expertise and its staff of accredited cruise counselors. We plan no changes in the staff or the office location on Mount Rushmore Road, the busiest street in Rapid City."

Owners of Modrick Travel, Lisa and Mike Modrick, who have taken more than 50 cruises and are accredited Elite Cruise Counselors, will continue to host cruise groups throughout the world.

Clinic offers free legal consultations for small business owners

LegalCORPS, the Southwest Small Business Development Center and the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce have partnered to provide free legal brief advice to small business owners.

Small business owners in southwest Minnesota are now able to get free 30-minute consultations from business lawyers through a joint effort of the nonprofit LegalCORPS, the Southwest Small Business Development Center and the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce the organizations have announced.

Monthly free "virtual clinics" will connect clients at the SBDC office at Southwest Minnesota State University via video conference with business lawyers located at Target Corporation headquarters in Minneapolis. Prairie Home Hospice receives recognition

Prairie Home Hospice recently received recognition from the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization and from the National Board for Certification of Hospice & Palliative Care Nurses.

The National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization has designated Prairie Home Hospice as a Quality Partner for outstanding commitment to maximizing the quality of care. Quality Partners are participants in a national cooperative effort developed and directed by the NHPCO to build organizational excellence and enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability for hospice programs.

The National Board for Certification of Hospice & Palliative Nurses also recently recognized Prairie Home Hospice as a member of the NBCHPN Employer Supporter Program. This award recognizes Prairie Home Hospice for sustained commitment to promoting hospice and palliative care education and certification among all staff.
