Multiple goals in all three periods powered the Marshall girls' hockey team to a 9-2 win over Worthington in the final day of the Schwan Cup holiday hockey tournament in Blaine.

Megan Vogl and Miranda Fischer each recorded a hat trick, and Vogl notched a pair of assists to help the Tigers end a nine-game losing streak.

After Betsy Thompson scored for the Trojans after just 19 seconds of play, Morgan Larsen was able to get the Tigers on the board and even the score 7 minutes, 53 seconds into the game.

Hanna Peterson scored at the 13:39 mark of the first period to give Marshall its first lead, which it would not relent.

Vogl assisted on Fischer's first goal at the 3:12 mark of the second period before scoring her first two goals. An unassisted tally 18 seconds into the final period completed Vogl's hat trick, while Fischer's third goal featured Vogl's second assist. Fischer also scored an unassisted goal at the 2:39 mark of the final period.

The Tigers pumped 40 shots on net against Worthington, while Marshall goaltender Morgan Morrill turned aside 13 of the 15 shots she faced.

Marshall (4-10 overall, 2-2 Southwest Conference) returns to conference play as the Tigers travel to Morris on Thursday for a showdown with the Morris/Benson Area Storm.
