December 16, 2012
Marshall Independent

The Marshall Police Department arrested a 26-year-old Marshall man early Sunday morning after responding to a report of shots being fired, the MPD said.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight in the area of Village Drive and Birch Street, the MPD said.

The man is being detained on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm in a municipality and felon in possession of a firearm.

The case file will be sent to the Lyon County Attorney requesting a formal complaint and court appearance.

The MPD encourages residents to report suspicious activity while it is happening and to call 9-1-1 and stay on the line if you see or hear something that seems unusual or suspicious. The police prefer that you call 9-1-1 or the department at 537-7000 so they can investigate suspicious activity.
