Martha Ione was born March 9, 1913, in Summit, S.D., to Henry and Ethel (Warner) Bosacker. When she was a small child, the family moved to Elysian where she attended grade school. In 1925, they moved to Marshall where she and her 11 siblings helped on the family farm north of Marshall until her marriage to Ervin "Buck" Lanoue at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. They farmed north of Marshall until 1941, when they built, owned and operated the Marshall Bowling Alley until 1955. For many years, Martha anticipated the celebration of her 100th birthday, but God called her home just four months shy of that milestone Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Avera Morningside Care Center in Marshall. Faithfully, Martha followed the Minnesota Twins. She was also the matriarch of five generations.
