About 166 runners and walkers signed up for the 5th annual Southwest Minnesota Jingle Bell 5K Walk/Run for Arthritis Saturday morning at Marshall Middle School. Several of the participants got into the holiday spirit early by dressing in red and green, as Christmas trees and gingerbread men and wearing jingly bells on their shirts for the event. Santa Claus and his elves cheered on the runners and walkers at the finish line.
Dressed in matching outfits, Kim Bloom and Angie Lovre of Tyler smiled as they did a few warm-up exercises before the run/walk.
