‘Yes’ vote will promote growth

To the editor:

We need your support!

The residents of Marshall have been very attentive to the needs of this community. A "Yes" vote on Nov. 6 will spur new growth for our community and enhance our position as a regional center in southwest Minnesota, along with building a community for future generations.

The MERIT Center will enhance our training capabilities for emergency personnel. With the ever demanding requirements on volunteer fire departments, it is important to have a place where they can receive the necessary training in order to keep up with those changes.

In today's environment, it is important to keep young people involved in positive programs and to help guide them into the future with a positive attitude. The Amateur Sports Center will allow them to have this great environment to participate in and attend many sporting events. Having this facility, we will draw many opportunities for growth in Marshall and its economy. Sports tourism will enhance further retail development, restaurants, entertainment options, along with increasing the number of customers visiting our local businesses.

Voting "Yes" will provide our community and region with the long-term growth needed for economic growth and development. Join me and support these two initiatives on Nov. 6.
