Travis Edward Holmquist was born April 14, 1970, at Willmar, to Terry Holmquist and Ruth (Quam) Martin. In 1979, he moved to Cambridge where he attended his schooling, graduating from Cambridge High School in 1989. He continued his education at Willmar Vo-Tech graduating with his associate's degree in 1991.

Travis was baptized in 1970, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Kandiyohi, and was confirmed in 1987, at Cambridge Lutheran Church in Cambridge.

Travis was employed as a mobile radio specialist for the past 21 years, working in Minneapolis, Janesville and most recently with MnDOT in the Marshall area for the past three years.

Travis' hobbies included computers, fishing, biking and gardening. His family recalls his passion for and gift of music, playing in the jazz bands in both the junior and senior high schools. He played tuba, bass guitar and acoustic guitar, playing in several bands including The Clairvoyance. He was a private person, with a kind gentle heart and a giving spirit. His birthday and Christmas were always an exciting time for Travis, but at Christmas he received more joy watching others open his gifts.

Survivors include his father, Terrance (and Deb) Holmquist, Spicer; mother, Ruth (and Ted) Martin, Cambridge; maternal grandmother, Winifred Quam, Kandiyohi; and his siblings, Chris Martin (and Dennis Hester), Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Adam (and Michelle) Martin, Coon Rapids, Ben (and Erica) Martin, Otsego, Kelly (and Mike) Wicklund, Lino Lakes and Nikki (and Jason) Peraler, New York Mills. Also surviving are his uncles, aunts, and cousins and other family and friends.
