Dawson-Boyd 56, Canby 22

A 52-yard touchdown reception and a 56-yard touchdown run by Wyatt Kraus gave the Canby Lancers a surprising 13-0 lead over third-ranked Dawson-Boyd by the end of the first quarter. But the Canby defense was unable to hold back the explosive Blackjacks any longer, as Dawson-Boyd used big play after big play over the final three quarters to grab a 56-22 win in Tuesday's Little Sioux Conference game in Dawson.

Six of Dawson-Boyd's touchdowns came on plays of 30 yards or more. The Blackjacks started their scoring in the first quarter when Kyler Collins found the end zone on a 36-yard pass from Joey Lee, who finished the night 7-for-17 passing for 195 yards and three touchdowns.

After Canby answered with a touchdown of its own on a 13-yard run by quarterback Michael Sisk, Dawson-Boyd got another big play when Michael Anyasike returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown.

Anyasike's score started a string of five straight touchdowns by the Blackjacks, which included a 55-yard run by Justin Lee and a 55-yard touchdown reception by Michael Lee. Michael Lee ended the night with four catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns, and Justin Lee had 13 carries for 96 yards and two scores.

Kraus had a strong performance in the losing effort, carrying the ball 28 times for 167 yards, and catching two passes for 49 yards.

The Blackjacks finish the regular season with a 7-1 overall record and a 6-1 mark in the Little Sioux Conference, while Canby finishes at 5-3 overall and 5-2 in conference action.
