MINNEOTA - Services for Germaine Wambeke, 95, of Minneota will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Minneota with lunch to follow.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.
She was born July 10, 1917, in Nordland Township to Andrew Bottelberghe and Louise (Van Hacke) Bottelberghe. In 1923 she moved with her family to Rochester, N.Y. She attended school, made her first communion and confirmation there. Later the family moved back to the farm in Nordland Township. She married Julius "Jack" Wambeke in 1941 and lived on the farm until moving to Minneota. She worked at the Minneota Manor for 11 years before her retirement.
Survivors include her sons David (and Jan), of Santiago, Patrick of Parker's Prairie, Doug of Willmar and Ron (and Bev) of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She's been excitedly awaiting the arrival of her third great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband Jack, young sons John and Greg, brother Emil, sister Celina and infant grandson Nathan.
