Ann Marie Dykstra paced the Southwest Minnesota State University women's cross country team with a time of 17 minutes, 6 seconds at Caty's Run, hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato, on Saturday. Dykstra's time placed her 25th overall.
Kevin Leiferman had the low time for the Mustang men in the 6,000-meter race, finishing in 21st place with a time of 29:33.
Five other SMSU men finished within eight places of each other. Alex Solheim took 24th with a time of 22:06, while Andrew Feucht (22:59), Demond Carter (23:45) and Jason Bently (24:03) finished 26th-28th.
Tatum Larson took 26th in the women's 4,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 17:22. Diane More (17:41) took 30th and Kaelyn Turner (18:45) placed 35th. Amanda Estes was 37th with a time of 19:14, while Karli Tholen took 39th (19:31). Emily Hartwig (21:28) finished in 41st place, just one spot ahead of the final Mustang runner, Lisa Schroeder (21:33).
No team scores were kept during the invite.
SMSU has its next competition on Saturday when they run in the Martin Luther College Invite in New Ulm.
