ADM — Marshall supports projects

October 6, 2012

To the editor:

On behalf of ADM Corn Processing, I am pleased to offer support for the referendum ballot questions on the MERIT Center Vehicle Safety Driving Expansion and the Southwest Minnesota Amateur Sports Complex.

ADM places a high value on safety - the safety of our employees and the safety of our community members. For the past several years, the ADM - Marshall Facility has utilized the industrial training services that the MERIT Center offers. This training helps our employees to prepare for emergency situations and enhances their ability to take the appropriate actions when these situations arise.

The addition of a vehicle driving safety course to the MERIT Center will help to keep area communities safe. In addition to being utilized by area law enforcement and emergency response groups, this facility can be used for driver education training for area youth. ADM Marshall is a strong supporter of this project due to the fact that it improves driver safety in southwest Minnesota and the safety of the communities in which we live.

ADM Marshall supports both of these projects for another reason; recruitment and retention of employees. We believe that our ability to attract and keep talented and dedicated employees is enhanced by the services and amenities that will follow these projects.

We are very excited about the growth opportunities that these projects unlock for Marshall and the surrounding communities.
