TMB 3, RTR 1

The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers bounced back from their first Camden Conference loss of the season (3-2 vs. Central Minnesota Christian on Tuesday) for a 3-1 win over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Thursday in Tyler.

Kassidy Przymus had 16 kills and 11 digs to help TMB to a 25-14, 25-6, 21-25, 25-21 win over the Knights.

Sammie Gervais chipped in with 14 kills for TMB and was a team-best 25-for-25 serving with an ace. Setter Cassie Hook had 46 set assists for TMB in the win, while libero Anna Peterson led TMB with 17 digs.

Janel Wichern had a team-high 16 kills for RTR, as well as three aces on 9-for-10 serving. She also picked up 10 digs, one behind team leader Destinee Strand. Leslie Willert led the Knights on 12 of 12 serving with an ace, while Dana Schaefer and Justine Possail each had a pair of ace blocks in defeat.

RTR falls to 8-7 on the season (4-4 Camden Conference) and hosts its home invitational this weekend in Tyler. TMB improves to 9-8 overall (6-1 conference) and must prepare to host the Minneota Vikings, ranked No. 3 in Class A, on Tuesday in Tracy.

The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks swept Lincoln HI 25-13, 25-9, 25-17 on Thursday in Dawson to pick up their sixth straight win.

Mari Lee had 15 kills to lead the Dawson-Boyd attack, while Justine Lee had 10 kills and three ace serves. Andrea Lee led the team in service aces with four, and Kylie Schuelke had a team-high 19 digs.

Lincoln HI was led by Alyssa Otto, who had three kills, three digs, an ace block and an ace serve.

The Rebels will try for their first win of the season on Saturday when they compete at the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Invitational. The Blackjacks (13-3 overall) are back in action Tuesday for a Camden Conference road match against MACCRAY.

The third-ranked Minneota Vikings improved their win streak to 11 matches with a 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 sweep of MACCRAY Thursday night in Minneota.

Vikings setter Megan Larson was 14 of 14 serving with four aces. She also had 30 set assists. Taylor Reiss had a team-high nine kills to go along with nine digs. Molly Hennen had the team lead in digs (18), while Hanna Prellwitz posted a team-high three ace blocks.

The Vikings (13-3 overall) will put their perfect Camden Conference record on the line Tuesday when they travel to Tracy to face Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

Kimberly Frank had five ace serves, 11 kills, 19 digs and 27 set assists to help power the Wabasso volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Minnesota Valley Lutheran Thursday night in New Ulm. The Rabbits won the match 25-12, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21.

Wabasso's Chelsey Guetter was 21-for-21 serving with three aces. She also had 12 kills, three solo ace blocks and two block assists. Desi Kramer added 18 digs and 10 kills for the Rabbits.

Wabasso improves to 10-4 with the victory and will play at Lakeview on Monday.

Aided by a 27-for-27 serving with eight aces performance by Mikaela Smith, the Red Rock Central Falcons swept Ellsworth Thursday during a Red Rock Conference match in Ellsworth - 25-11, 25-21, 25-12.

Smith, who also had 13 set assists, helped power the Falcon offense and keyed a 13-0 run to begin the third set. Chloe Arfsten and Fern Engen each had 11 kills in the match for RRC, while Tegan Derickson had 14 set assists and was 10 of 10 serving.

Engen also had a pair of ace blocks to lead the Falcons, and Brook Rasmussen had a team-high 13 digs.

With the win RRC improves to 6-8 overall and 4-2 in the Red Rock Conference. The Falcons continue Red Rock Conference play on Tuesday when they host Fulda.

Strong serving nights from three Chargers guided Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a 3-0 sweep over the Adrian Dragons on Thursday in Adrian.

Abby Herding, Madison Takle and Dayna Comnick were each perfect serving for the Chargers. Herding had the most attempts, finishing 18-for-18, and was in the middle of the pack with three aces. Takle went middle on attempts (17-for-17) and low for aces (2), while Comnick pciked up four aces on 16 of 16 serving.

Comnick also led the Chargers with 13 kills.

Takle was one of three Chargers to also tie for the team lead in digs. Paige Erickson and Hailey Osland tied Takle with eight digs apiece. Herding tallied 25 set assists for WWG in the sweep.

The Chargers (15-3 overall, 4-1 Red Rock Conference) return home on Tuesday to play host to Edgerton in a Red Rock Conference match.

The Canby Lancers made their only match of the week count on Thursday, defeating Lakeview 3-0 on their home court in Canby. The Lancers won 25-18, 25-20, 25-14.

Alli Boerboom led the Lakers with eight kills. Kana Barker added a team-high 12 digs to go along with her 14 set assists, and Brianna Hoffman tallied two ace blocks in the losing effort.

The Lakers fall to 10-8 after the loss and will play a non-conference match against Wabasso Monday in Cottonwood.

Canby (13-8 overall) continues Camden Conference play Tuesday in Ivanhoe against Lincoln HI.

The Murray County Central Rebels improved to 5-1 in the Red Rock Conference after a three-set sweep of Edgerton 25-12, 25-17, 25-14 on Thursday night in Slayton.

Kristi Bose had nine kills to lead the Rebels, while also recording a pair of ace blocks and picking up seven digs. Dana VanderWal had two aces on 13 of 13 serving and a team-high eight digs for MCC, as well. Paris Thomas tallied 10 set assists in the win.

Ciara Everett and Sarah Post each had eight kills in defeat for Edgerton, while Amanda Schaap (12) and Jessica Menning (11) combined for 23 set assists.

MCC (5-4 overall) will look to stay above .500 as the Rebels travel to Round Lake on Tuesday for a Red Rock Conference contest with Southwestern United.
