To the editor:
The last column I saw by Donald Kaul, syndicated columnist, was in the Independent July 29, 2012. It was called "My Broken Heart." I was sorry about his heart attack, but happy about the good results of surgery. He speaks about his reluctance in continuing writing about this "new country."
I for one miss his column. We need more than ever writers who see things as they are and what they should be. Words from the heart of one who cares deeply for his country and inspires us to work together to make it a better place for all of us.
I would like to encourage him to continue his column and feel I am expressing the wishes of many who would welcome you back!
I just read another column "Looking past the election" by syndicated columnist Robert B. Reich. It is so refreshing to read commonsense articles, that not only point out or criticize, but offer possible solutions. If he isn't running for Congress, he should be! We can learn from him.
