The Yellow Medicine East girls' tennis team got off to a rocky start to the 2012 season with a pair of losses at a triangular hosted by Sauk Centre. The Sting were swept by Sauk Centre 7-0 and lost to Park Rapids Area 5-2.
The Sting picked up one singles win and one doubles win on the day, both coming against Park Rapids.
At No. 2 doubles, YME's Danielle Clark ousted Charity Ridlon in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-2.
The Sting's other win came at No. 3 doubles, where Anna Posch and Sophie Timm claimed a back-and-forth match with Jeni Simpson and Jill Simpson, winning 6-4, 6-7 (7-5), 10-8.
