On Tuesday, Minnesota State-Mankato Athletic Director Kevin Buisman announced that South Dakota State assistant coach Emilee Thiesse was named the Mavericks' new women's head basketball coach.
Thiesse, who served as recruiting coordinator and academic coordinator for the Jackrabbits, was selected as the Mavericks' head coach over current Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball coach Allison Kruger.
During her time on the South Dakota State staff, the Jackrabbits won three straight Summit League championships and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for three consecutive years. SDSU went 65-34 in that span.
Prior to her work with the Jackrabbits, Thiesse spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
