Signs marking Marshall as a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community went up around town during the past week, with the final sign, on North U.S. Highway 59, being installed on Tuesday afternoon. Present for the occasion were Al Dale (in bucket), Marshall VFW Commander Jes Mellenthin, Marshall American Legion Commander Jeff Gay, Denise Schneekloth of the Marshall Beyond the Yellow Ribbon group, John DeCramer of the Marshall City Council, and Sgt. 1st Class Tim Green of the Minnesota National Guard.

A Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community is one that forms a network connecting support agencies, local organizations and community members to support members of the military and their families. Marshall was named a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community in September.
