YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY - The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Clarkfield man in connection with a fire at a rural Clarkfield residence Monday night, a release from the sheriff's department said Wednesday. Aaron Dean Ohlson, 35, of Clarkfield, is being held in the Yellow Medicine County Jail pending his first court appearance, the sheriff's department said.
At about 11:19 p.m. Monday the sheriff's department received a report of a house fire on the 4400 block of 240th Avenue. The Clarkfield Fire Department, Clarkfield Ambulance, Granite Falls Ambulance and the sheriff's department all responded at the scene. After the fire was put out, the cause of the fire appeared suspicious, and a Minnesota fire marshal was called in to assist with the investigation, the sheriff's department said. After an initial investigation and interviews, it looked like the fire was deliberately set, the sheriff's department said. Officials arrested Ohlson in connection with the fire.
