MARSHALL - Daniell Josephine Clapp, 22, of Minneota, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court July 3 to charges of third degree driving while impaired, court records said. Clapp drive with an alcohol level of .17 in Marshall on April 15, and had a prior DWI conviction in 2006, court records said. Clapp was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail with 177 days stayed, pay an $800 fine, and two years probation with conditions including serve three days in jail with credit for one day served, be subject to random testing and complete 208 hours of Sentenced to Service.

MARSHALL - David Michael Brown, 34, of Slayton, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court July 3 to charges of third degree criminal property damage, court records said. Brown caused more than $500 in damage to another person's vehicle in Tracy on Oct. 6, court records said. Brown was sentenced to serve one year in jail with 335 days stayed, and two years probation with conditions including serve 30 days in jail with credit for time served and good behavior, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws. Additional charges of motor vehicle theft were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Kasey Roy Westberg, 25, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 3 on charges of harassment and stalking. A complaint alleges Westberg made harassing phone calls to a woman in Lyon County on April 14-15. A hearing was set for July 31.

MARSHALL Kathryn Jean Brown, 49, of Tyler, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 3 on charges of second degree driving while impaired - refusal to test, and open bottle. A complaint alleges Brown refused an alcohol test in Marshall on May 24, and had a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for July 17.

MARSHALL - Crystal Lee Giffen, 27, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 3 on charges of fifth degree controlled substance crime. A complaint alleges Giffen possessed methamphetamine in Lyon County on May 9. A jury trial date was set for Sept. 20-21, and a pretrial hearing was set for Sept. 11.

MARSHALL - Paula Lynn Colemer, 45, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court July 3 to charges of first degree controlled substance crime and child endangerment, court records said. Colemer or an accomplice possessed methamphetamine with intent to sell them at a residence in Marshall on Feb. 3, court records said. Colemer received a stayed sentence of 86 months in prison, and seven years probation with conditions including serve 90 days in jail with credit for time served and good behavior, abstain from alcohol and drugs and complete the drug court program. Additional charges of second degree controlled substance crime - liability for crimes of another, fifth degree controlled substance crime, possession of a small amount of marijuana - liability for crimes of another, and possession of drug paraphernalia - liability for crimes of another were dismissed.
