Baartman selected for leadership development program
Sharyce Baartman, an audiologist for the SW/WC Service Cooperative, has been selected as one of 30 participants nationwide to be part of ASHA's Leadership Development Program in Audiology (LDPA). The LDPA is a year-long program through ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) and participants are selected through a competitive process. Participation includes a full-day face-to-face workshop in Maryland, six webinars throughout the course of the year on selected leadership topics and the development and completion of an individual leadership project. Baartman's project will focus on the creation of a mentoring program at the SW/WC Service Cooperative. A Senior Fellows Award recipient through the SW/WC Service Cooperative (an award that recognizes staff for their dedication, longevity and continuing education to fulfill the agency's mission), Baartman will use the award dollars to help fund her program participation costs.
