Minneota used a four-run third and five-run fifth inning to win its first game of the 2012 Legion baseball season 11-4 over Cottonwood Friday night.
Josh Bednarek got the win for Minneota, striking out six in just over four innings of action. Mike Boerboom got the loss for Cottonwood.
Bednarek also stood out offensively, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Lee Bot added two more RBIs for Minneota.
Wyatt Schuster knocked in two of Cottonwood's four runs, while Boerboom scored twice.
Minneota (1-0 overall) is back in action Monday night in Sacred Heart.
