MARSHALL - Donald Jay Strand, 30, of Tracy pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court May 15 to charges of third degree driving while impaired, court records said. Strand drove with an alcohol level of .14 in Marshall on Feb. 4, and had a prior DWI conviction in 2003, court records said. Strand was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 150 days stayed, pay an $800 fine, and two years probation with conditions including serve 30 days in jail with credit for one day served, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws.

MARSHALL - Jeffery Arnold Williams, 52, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court May 15 on charges of driving after cancellation - inimical to public safety. A complaint alleges Williams drove with a canceled license in Marshall on Feb. 25. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a motion to dismiss the charges was denied. A hearing was set for May 29.

MARSHALL - Shane Alexander Filter, 18, of Marshall pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court May 15 to charges of intent to escape tax, court records said. Filter used another vehicle's license plates in Marshall in March, in an attempt to avoid title transfer and license plate costs on a vehicle he had purchased, court records said. Filter received a stayed sentence of 180 days in jail, and was sentenced to pay a $300 fine and two years probation with conditions including serve 160 hours of Sentenced to Service, pay restitution, and abide by laws. Additional charges of theft were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Kamal Cherqaoui Kehelaouinet, 39, of Marshall pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court May 15 to two counts of sale of synthetic cannabinoid charges, two counts of possession of synthetic cannabinoid charges, and possession of drug paraphernalia charges, court records said. A complaint alleges Kehelaouinet sold synthetic marijuana in separate incidents in Marshall on Feb. 15 and April 4. A jury trial was set for Aug. 15-16, with a date certain of Dec. 20-21. A pretrial hearing was set for Aug. 7.

MARSHALL - Daniel Steven Fosvick, 50, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court May 15 on charges of third degree driving while impaired and failure to stop at a stop sign. A complaint alleges Fosvick drove with an alcohol level of .14 in Marshall on March 30, and had a prior DWI conviction in 2006. A hearing was set for June 12.

MARSHALL - Rolland Eugene Johnson, Jr., 19, of Marshall pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court May 15 to charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct and second degree criminal sexual conduct, court records said. A complaint alleges Johnson sexually assaulted a victim under the age of 13 in Marshall in incidents in 2011 and March 2012. A date certain for a jury trial was set for July 5-6. A pretrial hearing was set for June 25.
