MINNEOTA - Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Gillund, 92, of Minneota, will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota. Visitation will continue from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.
Mary died on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.

Mary Gillund
Mary Elizabeth (Tholen) Gillund was born on March 28, 1920, in Grandview Township, to John and Ann (Sanders) Tholen.
She grew up on the family farm near Ghent. On Sept. 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to Walter Gillund Sr. The couple farmed and raised their family in Nordland Township. In 1992, Mary moved to Minneota. She will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker, enjoying baking, gardening, taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and dancing, especially square dancing.
She is survived by her children Walter Jr. (and Rita) Gillund of Lincoln, Neb., Marian Lowry of Chandler, Ariz., Joanne "Jo" Kleine of Cottage Grove, Dianne (and LeRoy) Fonteyn of St. Paul Park, Ron (and Kay) Gillund of Cary, Ill., Annette Walters (and friend Terry) of Dayton, Kathy (and Larry) Weber of Canby, Ken (and Mary Jo) Gillund of Minneota, Carol Janiszeski (friend Norm) of Minneota, Tom Gillund (friend Janet) of Minneota, 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Dorothy, brother Clarence, son-in-law Mike Lowry, daughter-in-law Colleen Gillund.
