Soup and a Sermon offered during Lent

Soup and Sermon will be offered every Wednesday during Lent. Soup is served at 11:45 a.m. and the presentation of the Lenten message is at 12:05 p.m. in Holy Redeemer's Carlin Hall. These weekly events are sponsored by the Marshall Area Ministerial Association. The Rev. David Wall from First Lutheran will present.

Attendees may bring their own lunch if desired. Beverages are provided. A free-will offering will be accepted to defray costs.

St. Eloi spaghetti dinner, silent auction March 25 in Ghent

The St. Eloi spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 25, at the St. Eloi Church basement in Ghent. The dinner includes spaghetti, breadsticks, lettuce salad and bars. The fundraiser is sponsored by Catholic Order of Foresters which will provide matching funds. Proceeds go toward religious education programs.

Spring Fling March 31 in Canby

St. Peter's Spring Fling is Saturday, March 31, at the former Schott's building in Canby, Highway 75 to 11th Street East, then follow the signs. Dinner is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The dance is from 7:30-11 p.m. with music from DJ Bill. The cost is $6 a person, $3 for children younger than 5; $25 maximum per family. Activities for all ages, kids' games and prizes and a silent auction will take place. Burgers will be prepared by the Cattlemen's Association. Spring Fling T-shirts can be ordered by contacting St. Peter's School.

Holy Redeemer Church to have Lenten Mission

Holy Redeemer Catholic Church is presenting Frank Runyeon for its Lenten Mission 2012 at 6:30 p.m. March 26-28. Runyeon will present on the following topics: the Sermon on the Mount, The Gospel of Mark, and Hollywood vs. Faith.
