Class A wrestling champion JCC leads all SWC teams with 11 all-conference nods
All-Southwest Conference wrestling selections were released Friday and Class A state champion Jackson County Central led the way with 11 honorees.
Windom/Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin had six All-SWC selections, while Marshall, Pipestone Area and Worthington each had three.
Marshall juniors Campbell Hofstetter, Riley Roth and Justin Varpness were the Tigers' three selections. Hofstetter was Marshall's lone Class A state individual tournament qualifier this season.

Jackson County Central: Kyle Edlin, Cameron Henning, Jordan Biehn, Keegan Moore, Paden Moore, Luke Norland, Darick Vancura, Cooper Moore, Patrick Hanson, Jack Ziemer, Alex Tewes.
Luverne: Eli Dooyema, Spencer Oeltjenburns.
Marshall: Riley Roth, Campbell Hofstetter, Justin Varpness.
Pipestone Area: Brady Bos, Matt Heraldson, Jared Hillard.
Windom/Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin: Wyatt Stevens, Joe Fischenich, Jared Willaby, Blake Spinks, Matt Willaby, Vincent Johnson.

Marshall boys hockey team gets 4 All-SWC selections after winning conference title
Champions of the Southwest Conference with a 9-1 record, the Marshall boys hockey team earned a conference-high four All-SWC selections for the 2011-12 season.
Seniors Matt Campion, Bryce Peterson and Kiley Maki were joined by junior Beau Mikel as Marshall's all-conference selections. Mikel had a team-high 26 points during the regular season with 11 goals and 15 assists. Peterson had 11 goals and nine assists, and Campion and Maki each added 12 goals and five assists in regular-season play.
Marshall goaltender Mason Campion earned All-SWC honorable mention honors after posting an .892 save percentage during the season.

Marshall: Matt Campion, Bryce Peterson, Kiley Maki, Beau Mikel.
Morris/Benson: Tanner Picht, Kelly Engquist.

Windom Area: Adam Eisenmenger.
Worthington: Ethan Stofferan.

SWC champion Luverne paces conference teams with 5 All-SWC selections
The runner-up in the Southwest Conference, the Marshall girls hockey team had four All-Southwest Conference selections for the 2011-12 season.
The Tigers finished second in the conference behind Luverne, which went 7-0 in conference play. The Cardinals had five all-conference selections. Marshall went 5-2-1 in SWC action and 10-12-1 overall.
Marshall senior defensemen Dani Crowell and Lauren Hanson each earned All-SWC accolades, as did sophomore forward Megan Vogl and freshman forward Miranda Fischer.
Marshall freshman forward Hanna Peterson was chosen as an all-conference honorable mention selection.
