Soup and a Sermon offered during Lent

Soup and Sermon will be offered every Wednesday during Lenten. Soup is served at 11:45 a.m. and the presentation of Lenten Message is at 12:05 p.m. in Holy Redeemer's Carlin Hall. These weekly events are sponsored by the Marshall Area Ministerial Association.

Wednesday's presenter is the Rev. Celeste Lasich, Christ United Presbyterian.

Attendees may bring their own lunch if desired. Beverages are provided. A free-will offering will be accepted to defray costs.

Worship healing service Sunday in Balaton

The public is invited to a special worship and healing service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Victory Christian Church in Balaton. The evening will include praise and worship, as well as the opportunity for people to receive prayer for spiritual, emotional and physical healing and deliverance. Victory Christian Church is located at 1010 Lake Yankton Ave. in the East Bay addition on Highway 14 just east of Balaton. For more information, contact the church at 734-2771.

World Day of Prayer to be celebrated March 2 at Albright

The World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year, and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service.

The local 2012 World Day of Prayer service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Albright United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Marshall. Coffee and fellowship will be offered following the prayer service. For more information, call 532-4064.
