Area girls basketball

TMB 53, Lincoln HI 24

Tiffani Karbo led Tracy-Milroy-Balaton with 17 points and eight rebounds, as the Panthers claimed a 53-24 victory over the Lincoln HI Rebels in a Camden Conference high school girls' basketball game Thursday night in Ivanhoe.

Kate Johnston scored 11 points for TMB, while Cassandra Hook added six points and five steals. Both Sammie Gervais and Ashley Daniels netted five points for the Panthers.

Emily Christensen led Lincoln HI with eight points and six rebounds. Bridgette Bloch and Malorie Midtaune scored four points apiece, and Alicia Moen charted six rebounds and three steals for the Rebels.

TMB (7-4 Camden, 11-8 overall) hosts Canby tonight, while Lincoln HI (0-12, 1-16) hosts Minneota Monday.

Riley Nordgaard produced 28 points, five assists and five steals, leading the Canby Lancers to a 69-45 victory over the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights in a Camden Conference high school girls' basketball game Thursday night in Canby.

Ricki Kallhoff netted 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Canby, which is now 11-2 in the Camden and 16-4 overall.

Jenae Minett and Kaylie Nielsen led RTR with eight points apiece. Justine Possail scored seven points for the Knights (2-10, 4-14).

Canby plays at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton tonight, while RTR hosts Pipestone Area next Thursday.

Megan De Ruyter ripped the nets for 21 points, leading Southwest Christian to a 60-52 victory over Murray County Central in a Red Rock Conference high school girls' basketball game Thursday night in Slayton.

Jade Giese led MCC with 13 points and four steals, while Jenna Ness scored 12 points. Crystal Van Iperen ripped down 10 rebounds to go along with nine points, and Makenzie Giese added eight points and four steals for the Rebels.

MCC (8-4 Red Rock, 10-7 overall) plays at Red Rock Central Feb. 10.

Sparked by a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double from Taylor Reiss, the Minneota Vikings cruised to a 69-35 victory over the Ortonville Trojans in a non-conference high school girls' basketball game Thursday night in Ortonville.

Katelyn Kack scored 15 points for Minneota, and Kelsey Hennen netted nine points to go along with four assists. Shelby Corbin (seven points), Emily Stienessen (six points), Molly Hennen (five points) and Megan Larson (three points) rounded out the scoring for the Vikings.

Minneota (18-1 overall) hosts Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Saturday.

Jackson County Central snapped a five-game losing streak with a 68-52 win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Thursday night in Tracy.

Taylor Christopher and Jon Harmening each scored 14 points for the Huskies (4-14 overall) and Darnell Taylor-Breck added 13 points. Shadrack Wacker tallied nine points with eight assists and three steals.

Parker Lanoue scored 19 points for TMB and was the only Panther to reach double figures.

The Panthers (8-10) resume Camden Conference play next Thursday against Lincoln HI in Ivanhoe.

Yellow Medicine East held Lakeview to 27 percent shooting from the field in a 58-34 non-conference win Thursday night in Granite Falls.

The Sting snapped a seven-game losing streak with the win and improve to 5-10 overall.

Adam Savariego scored 13 points and eight rebounds to lead YME. Ryan Reishus and Reed Raddatz each added 12 points in the win.

Jamie Unke had 12 points and three steals for Lakeview.

The Sting have another non-conference game Monday, taking on Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in Granite Falls. Lakeview (4-13 overall) plays at KMS today.
