MARSHALL - Dean Harold Ross, 76, passed away at his home in Apache Junction, AZ on Jan. 11, 2012.
He was born Feb. 26, 1935, to Harold and Myrtle (Miller) Ross in Dolliver, IA. He attended school in Emmet County and lived in the Estherville, IA area for about 30 years.
He and Germaine (Klassen) Ross were married Oct. 5, 1955, in Ormsby, MN. To this union were born three children, Kim, Douglas and Cheryl. He and Carol (Larsen) Ross were married March 24, 1972, in Marshall. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Marshall and past member of the Marshall Fire Department. Dean and Carol sold their home in Marshall after being longtime residents and relocated to Apache Junction, AZ. Dean enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing, traveling and "tinkering."
He is survived by sons, Kim (and Kim) Ross of Houston, MN and Douglas (and Laura) Ross of Andover, MN; one daughter, Cheryl (and David) Vigdal of Becker, MN; step-children, Kevin (and Linda) Grotto of St. Paul, MN and Kimberly (Grotto) Meka (Shilo Raez) of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Dorothy (and Maurice) Thompson of Estherville, IA and Beverly (and Joe) Eckhart of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren, Justina, Garret, Anna, Samuel, Kristen, Nicole, Kendra and Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol in 2005; Germaine Ross and brother, Dale Ross. Dean will be missed forever by his family and many friends.
