Christian Life Ministries director to speak Sunday at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church

Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church will be hosting the Rev. Arnold Lemke, education director at Christian Life Ministries of the Twin Cities, for special Life/Mission Sunday services Sunday. The focus of his message for the day will be "Friends Don't Forget Your Influence."

The community is invited to attend the services Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Third and Marshall Streets in Marshall. Worship times are 8 and 10:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will take place following the services around noon.

Christian Life Ministries is an organization sponsored by people of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod that offers education and counseling services on Life issues to churches, schools and other groups. It provides life-oriented counseling to those with unplanned pregnancies, and a mentoring program to help its clients and their newborn children adjust to and re-enter life in their communities.

Barbecue luncheon Feb. 5 at Albright Methodist

A barbecue luncheon is planned for noon Sunday, Feb. 5, at Albright United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Marshall. Lunch includes barbecue sandwich, chips, bar or apple and beverage for $5 per adult and $3 for children 12 and younger. All proceeds go to Imagine No Malaria.

Pancake breakfast Sunday at Carlin Hall

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring their annual pancake breakfast which includes sausage and eggs from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Carlin Hall, Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall. The cost for adults is $6, children younger than 12 are $3, with 3 and younger eating for free.

Lund ordained Jan. 22

Mark Lund of Canby, formerly of Marshall, was ordained on Sunday, Jan. 22, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. He was ordained by the Rev. Mark Richardson, service coordinator of the Augustana District, Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).

Lund is a graduate of Luther Seminary in St. Paul and is serving as pastor of Word of God Lutheran Church (LCMC) in Canby. He is the son of John and Marilyn Lund of Marshall.
