LYON COUNTY - A Balaton woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash reported at 10:47 a.m. Saturday on Lyon County Road 5, the Lyon County Sheriff's Department said. A 1996 Dodge driven by Norma Mathis of Balaton swerved to miss a deer and struck a mailbox before entering the ditch and striking an electric pole and a utility box, the Sheriff's Department said. The vehicle was destroyed and Mathis was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the Sheriff's Department said.
