MARSHALL - Kevin Roger Dagner, 47, of Walnut Grove appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 on charges of driving after cancellation - inimical to public safety. Dagner drove with a cancelled license in Marshall on Sept. 16, a complaint alleges. A hearing was set for Nov. 15.

MARSHALL - Jacob James Moravetz, 19, of Lynd appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 on two counts of offering forged check charges. Moravetz cashed forged checks in Marshall on July 15, a complaint alleges. A hearing was set for Nov. 15.

MARSHALL - Christopher Michael Haney, 36, of Marshall was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 for charges of failing to notify authorities of an address change. Haney failed to notify authorities of a change in his primary address in June, court records said. Haney was registered as a predatory offender because of a prior kidnapping conviction in 2002, court records said. Haney was sentenced to 34 months in prison, with credit for 128 days served, and may have to register as a predatory offender for an additional five years.

MARSHALL - Brenda Kay Sovell, 52, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 on charges of aiding an offender. Sovell harbored a man in Marshall on Sept. 18 while knowing there were warrants out for his arrest, a complaint alleges. A hearing was set for Nov. 29.

MARSHALL - Brett Gerald Sovell, 24, of Marshall pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 to two counts of domestic assault charges and charges of fleeing a peace officer, court records said. Sovell assaulted a woman in Marshall on Sept. 17 and 18 and later fled from police, a complaint alleges. Attorney Pamela Neumann requested a speedy jury trial. A pre-trial hearing was set for Nov. 29 and a date certain for a trial was set for Dec. 9.

MARSHALL - Chad Alan Grengs, 24, of Cottonwood pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 to charges of third degree driving while impaired, court records said. Grengs drove while impaired in Lyon County on June 4, and had a prior DUI conviction in 2007, court records said. Grengs was sentenced to one year in jail with 320 days stayed, pay a $600 fine, and two years probation with conditions including serve 45 days in jail with credit for 22 days served, abstain from alcohol and drugs and abide by laws. Additional charges of third degree driving while impaired and no proof of insurance were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Ann Marie Byrne, 23, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District court Nov. 1 on charges of third degree driving while impaired. Byrne drove with an alcohol level of .12 in Marshall on Aug. 8, a complaint alleges. Probable cause was found for the charges, and a motion to dismiss the charges was denied. A hearing was set for Nov. 15.

MARSHALL - Adam Wayne Laleman, 29, of Cottonwood appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 1 on charges of second degree driving while impaired, fourth degree driving while impaired and littering. Laleman drove with an alcohol level of .168 in Ghent on Sept. 18, and had two prior DWI convictions in the past 10 years, a complaint alleges. Attorney Robert Gjorvad filed a motion to dismiss the charges. A hearing was set for Nov. 15.
