To the editor:
While Chris Christie may become a presidential candidate in the future, it's obvious 2011 isn't the year.
The U.S. is in the financial trouble it's in not because of anything President Obama did, didn't do, could have or should have done. We've been headed in this direction since Nixon's terms.
The American business community is sitting on $2.2 trillion waiting for a better tax deal, the Congressional GOP won't compromise on anything, and those who have benefitted the most in the last 50 years have gotten lowered tax rates.
Governor Christie has been in office for less than two years and isn't interested in running this time.
What the country needs is a president who wants the job and isn't the shooting star of the month. And the GOP should be working with this president instead of working feverishly to make this president a one-term leader.
