Affiliated Community Medical Center has completed the purchase of land for a new ACMC-Marshall medical clinic, ACMC?said Monday. The property is an open land parcel south of the ACMC-Marshall Market Street Mall Clinic, next to the present K-mart. The location will offer patients access off Minnesota Highway 23.
According to ACMC-Marshall Site Manager Shana Zahrbock, the clinic's Board of Directors has approved the construction of a new medical clinic. Details about the facility are still being finalized, and a timeline for construction is in the works, ACMC said.
"There has been an increased demand for healthcare services at ACMC in Marshall," said Zahrbock. "We continue to add new providers to meet this demand, and have reached a point where we are simply out of space. This will give us the opportunity to locate our very busy primary care and multiple specialists together into one common location. ACMC is excited about our continued growth and the potential our new clinic will have for the community."
The building of a new clinic coincides with the 25th anniversary of ACMC in Marshall. The professional staff of Doctor's Plaza, P.A. and Affiliated Community Medical Centers merged in 1987.
At the time, the physicians and staff made the decision to merge with ACMC to increase and improve patient care services in Marshall.
