Two area teens died in an incident this weekend, the Lyon County Sheriff's Department said.
The Sheriff's Department responded to a residence in Island Lake Township at 6:34 a.m. Saturday regarding the deaths of two girls, both age 14. Authorities identified Haylee Fentress of rural Lynd and Paige Moravetz of Lynd. The Sheriff's Department said it suspects no foul play relating to the incident and continues to investigate the circumstances of their deaths.
The Marshall School District is working together with local mental health services and the local ministerial association to offer counseling for students and community members, said Marshall Superintendent Klint Willert. Counseling will also be available into the rest of this week, Willert said.
"When the community experiences the death of a child, it is something that the community has to come together to work through," Willert said.
