Area students to perform with Augustana Choir on Midwest Tour

The Augustana Choir, whose "Song of Luke" performance was recently featured on South Dakota Public Television, will perform five concerts during its 2011 Interim Tour, beginning Thursday, Jan. 27.

The 72-member Choir will perform at the following churches: Bethesda Lutheran Church, Ames, Iowa, 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27; St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Naperville, Ill., 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 28; St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Logan Square, Chicago, Ill., 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29; Bethel Lutheran Church, Madison, Wis., 9 a.m. worship service and 3 p.m. concert, Sunday, Jan. 30; Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Rochester, 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 31.

The following area students will perform on the tour: John Hokanson of Cottonwood, Miranda Nelson of Hendricks, Trent Anderson of Lake Benton, Hannah Patzer of Marshall

Tour concerts are presented at no charge. A free-will offering will be taken.

The Choir will also perform a home concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Tickets for this concert are available at

MMC fall 2010 dean's list announced

Mount Marty College in Yankton and Watertown, S.D., announces the names of dean's list qualifiers for the Fall 2010 semester.

At the end of each fall and spring semester, all full-time undergraduate students completing a full-time load of graded coursework (no incompletes) with a minimum term grade point average of 3.5 will be named to the dean's list.

The following students have been named to the Mount Marty College dean's list for fall 2010: Bethany Bakker of Marshall.

Area students on St. Cloud State dean's list for academic excellence

St. Cloud State University has announced the names of 1,488 students whose academic achievement placed them on the fall semester dean's list. To be eligible for the honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
