Wabasso 49, Sleepy Eye Saint Mary's 34

The Wabasso Rabbits outrebounded Sleepy Eye Saint Mary's 49-35 and came away with a 49-34 Tomahawk Conference victory Monday in Sleepy Eye.

Kimberly Frank led Wabasso with 13 points. Hillary Kletscher added 10 points for the Rabbits, while Chelsey Guetter grabbed a team-high 10 boards and Alonna Baune dished out six assists.

The Knights were led by Liz Tauer's 12 points. Maddy Helget added 11 points in the loss. The Knights fell short despite turning the ball over eight fewer times and coming up with 11 blocked shots compared to Wabasso's one.

Wabasso improves to 3-1 (2-1 Tomahawk) with the victory and will play at New Ulm Cathedral on Thursday.

Ellsworth 66, Lincoln HI?28

Andrea DeBoer scored 24 points to lead Ellsworth to a 66-28 non-conference win over Lincoln HI Monday in Ellsworth.

The Panthers (2-2) also got 17 points from Bridget Kramer and 12 points and 13 rebounds from Amber Walkowaik.

Alicia Moen led Lincoln HI (0-5) with 15 points and was the only Rebel to finish with more than three points in the game.

Ellsworth will look to ride its momentum today at Southwest Minnesota Christian, while the Rebels will try to get their first win of the season Friday in Ivanhoe against Ortonville.

Lakeview 70, Edgerton 64

Melissa Streich scored a team-high 20 points, going 10-for-16 from the free-throw line to lead Lakeview to a 70-64 non-conference win over Edgerton in Edgerton.

Lakeview's Emily Swenson finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the victory. Lyndsey Peterson added six points and nine boards, while Sarah Berg tallied nine points and a team-high four assists.

Now at 2-1 overall, the Lakers return to Camden Conference action when they head to MACCRAY on Friday.
