Pekar is tutor at Northwestern College

Beth Pekar, a senior mathematics major from Ghent, is serving as a tutor for the 2010-11 school year at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

MSU, Mankato to graduate 1,458 in summer/fall commencement

Minnesota State University, Mankato plans to graduate 1,458 students during summer/fall commencement exercises Saturday at the Taylor Center on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.

Graduate level degrees to be presented include 84 master of arts degrees, nine master of fine arts degrees, six master of arts in teaching degrees, nine master of business administration degrees, three master of education degrees, 15 master of public administration degrees, 13 master of science in nursing degrees, 139 master of science degrees, 29 master of social work degrees, two master of music degrees and 44 specialist degrees.

Awarded at the undergraduate level will be 93 bachelor of arts degrees, 20 bachelor of fine arts degrees,1,017 bachelor of science degrees, three bachelor of science in civil engineering degrees, six bachelor of science in electrical engineering degrees, one bachelor of music degree, 30 bachelor of science in social work degrees and 19 associate of arts degrees.

Undergraduate students receiving recognition will include 71 students graduating summa cum laude, 182 students graduating magna cum laude and 149 students graduating cum laude.

Moon pursues studies in Chicago
