MARSHALL - Jake Larson says he does "quality work in a friendly atmosphere."

Larson, a 1998 Marshall High School graduate, opened his computer repair business, Quality Computers, this past April. It is located on 212 West Main Street, near Music St.

Before he opened Quality Computers, Larson had worked out of his home for the last two years, doing computer repair.

Jake Larson does both in-store and onsite computer repair with his business, Quality Computers.

"I built a pretty good client base and decided to take it to the next level," Larson said. "I focus mainly on home offices and small businesses."

Larson said he has the experience, so starting a downtown shop wasn't on a whim.

"I was just pretty successful out of my home, I'm not plunging in or anything," Larson said.

Larson said he's always been interested in computers and has a degree in computer science. He basically built the first computer he had to save money.

"Then I did it for my family and friends," Larson said.

When the computer repairs got too much for his house, Larson started looking at available spots.

"I wanted to be downtown because no one else (in computer repair) is down here," Larson said.

Larson also does free diagnoses and said he offers lower prices for repairs and other work.

What it comes down to, Larson said, is he wants to help people.

"When people have computer problems, it throws a wrench into everything," Larson said. "I like to help them save time and money."

Larson provides such services as data recovery, system cleanup, in-store or onsite repair, Windows installation and virus and Malware removal.

"I service all brands of desktops and laptops," Larson said.

He does also sell some computer accessories, but his focus is mainly on repair.

"Filling the shelves isn't a priority," Larson said.

Larson said he will always have a variety of new, used and refurbished computers for sale.
