MARSHALL - Corwyn Troy Peterson, 41, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 in a motion hearing. Peterson's lawyer Stephen Ferrazzano moved to waive a staggered sentence The court waived a third segment of a jail sentence.

MARSHALL - Joseph Rossado, 42,of Minneota appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 on charges of assault in the second and third degree. Rossado struck a victim with a pool ball and pinned the victim to a pool table on Oct. 3 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. The court took the case under advisement.

MARSHALL - Henry Omar Ramirez-Lopez also known as Henry Omar Lopez- Ramirez, 39, of Marshall was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Nov. 9 on a charge of assault in the third degree. Ramirez-Lopez received a stay of imposition on a sentence and was placed on supervised probation for up to five years. Ramirez-Lopez must serve 180 days, register as a sex offender and follow other conditions. Four related charges were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Tammy Jean DeVries, 40, of St. Cloud admitted in Lyon County District Court Nov. 9 violating her probation. DeVries violated her probation by failing to pay her fine, fee and surcharge and failing to update a chemical use assessment, court records said. DeVries was reinstated on probation and it was extended to Oct. 1, 2010. DeVries must also update her CUA and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL -Joshua Isaiah Davis, 23, of Cottage Grove appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 9 in a probation violation hearing. Davis failed to abstain from chemicals, failed to maintain contact with his agent, failed to provide a urine sample, failed to comply with restitution and failed to pay restitution, probation alleges. Davis' lawyer Pam Neumann asked for a two-week continuance and the court granted it. A hearing was set for Nov. 24.

MARSHALL - Douglas Henry Janiszeski, 51, of Minneota pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 9 to a charge of third degree driving while impaired-refusal to test. Janiszeski refused an alcohol test on Aug. 27 in Minneota, court records said. Two related charges were dismissed. Janiszeski was sentenced to one year in jail which was stayed and placed on supervised probation for up to two years. Janiszeski must have a chemical use assessment, totally abstain from drugs and alcohol and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL - Steven John Timmerman, 31, of Ghent pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 9 to a charge of assault in the fourth degree. Timmerman kicked a deputy on Aug. 30 in Lyon County, court records said. Two related charges were dismissed. Timmerman was sentenced to one year in jail with 320 days stayed. Timmerman was placed on up to two years of supervised probation. Timmerman must serve 45 days, totally abstain from alcohol and drugs and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL - Allan Lee Skare, 34, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 9 on charges in two files. Skare appeared on charges of assault in the second degree, domestic assault-inflict harm, domestic assault by strangulation and obstructing the legal process. Skare threatened a victim with a knife, strangled the victim and resisted officers on July 31 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. In the second file, Skare is charged with domestic assault and domestic assault by strangulation. Skare strangled a victim on June 21 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. A hearing was set for Nov. 24.

MARSHALL - Noah Daniel Arjun Mayer, 23, of Marshall pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 to a charge of theft. Mayer stole $740 from a business safe on April 12 in Marshall, court records said. Mayer was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 177 days stayed. Mayer was placed on up to two years of probation and must pay a $500 fine and restitution. Mayer must serve three days in jail and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL -George Washington Strickland, 45, of Marshall was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 on a theft charge. Strickland was sentenced to one year and one day in jail which was stayed. Strickland was placed on up to five years of probation. Strickland must serve 45 days in jail, have a mental health examination and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL - Nathan Allen Meyer, 28, of Tracy pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 to a charge of third degree driving while impaired. Meyer drove with an alcohol concentration of .15 on May 2 in Lyon County, court records said. Meyer was sentenced to one year in jail with 320 days stayed and placed on up to two years of supervised probation. Meyer must serve 45 days, pay a $600 fine, have a chemical use assessment and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL - Brandon Lee Willard, 19, of Herrick, Ill. pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 to a charge of criminal sexual conduct. Willard sexually assaulted a victim, 15, from October to Nov. 12, 2008 in Marshall, court records said. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation. A sentencing hearing was set for Jan. 12.MARSHALL - James Burch Kurka, 19, of Minneota appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 12 on a charge of theft. Kurka stole two rings valued at $3,200 on Nov. 5 and 6 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. A public defender was to be appointed. Bail was set at $5,000 with no conditions and $500 with conditions of good behavior, abstain from alcohol and drugs and others. A Rule 8 hearing was set for Nov. 24.

MARSHALL -Scott David Gunderson, 40, of Chanhassen appeared in Lyon County District Nov. 9 on charges of driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety, no proof of insurance and speeding. Gunderson drove 68 in a 55 mph zone, without proof of insurance and with a canceled driver's license on Nov. 8 in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. Stephen Ferrazzano was appointed Gunderson's lawyer. A Rule 8 hearing was set for Nov. 24. Bail was set at $6,000 with no conditions and $200 with conditions of be of good behavior, obey all laws, no driving and others.

MARSHALL - Joshua Allen Winter, 25, of Marshall pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3 to a charge of domestic assault. Winter threatened to kick in a door, ripped the glasses of the victim and grabbed the cell phone of the victim on Sept. 24, court records said. Winter was sentenced to one year in jail with 326 days stayed and placed on up to two years of supervised probation. Winter must serve 39 days, pay a $500 fine, have a domestic assault assessment and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL - Lazette Marie Etheredge, 40, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 3. The court agreed to a motion to allow Etheredge to serve Community Work Service instead of Sentence to Serve because of a physical condition, court records said.

MARSHALL - Jeffrey George Brewers, 48, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 16 on charges of third degree driving while impaired-test refusal, fourth degree DWI and open bottle. Brewers refused an alcohol test, drove under the influence of alcohol and had an open bottle of alcohol in his vehicle in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. Brewers' lawyer Stephen Ferrazzano waived an omnibus hearing. A plea hearing was set for Dec. 7.

MARSHALL - Jeffrey Dean Rathman, 46, of Vesta appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 17 on two counts of third degree driving while impaired and a charge of exhibition driving. Rathman drove with an alcohol concentration of .12 and accelerated quickly in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. A hearing was set for Dec. 15.
